Living with an Irish family
One of the best ways to learn more about Ireland and Irish
people is to live with a family during your stay. Family life is
informal and Irish people are welcoming, friendly and talkative,
so you will have plenty of opportunities to practise your
English.
Our families are carefully chosen by our Accommodation Officers
and all families have been visited and approved by us. Irish
families live in houses with gardens in pleasant suburbs which
are approximately 30-40 minutes by bus or train from the city
centre. |
 |
You will be sent details of your family
and can make contact with them to confirm your flight
number and time before arrival. You will have your
breakfast and evening meal with your family from Monday
to Friday and all your meals at the weekends. Host
Family
Breakfast is a light meal consisting of juice, cereal,
toast or brown bread. Dinner usually consists a main
dish of meat or fish followed by dessert. The main
evening meal in Ireland takes place between 6pm and 7pm,
which allows you to join our evening programme or to
take part in some sporting activity during the long
summer evenings.
You will have a single room during the winter but a
supplement of €30 per week must be paid to guarantee a
single room during June, July, August and September.
Host Family accommodation will cost €165 per week in
2007

Dublin - Airport Transfers (for Host-Family & Dun an Oir
only)
Dublin Airport is small, and it is relatively easy to
get a taxi to the host-family or
self-catering accommodation from outside the main
airport building. CES will arrange to meet a client
staying in a host-family on arrival, only if they
require a personal transfer. The cost is €65 for a
transfer on arrival and must be paid in advance. There
is a regular express bus service from the airport to the
city centre and students can then take a bus to the area
they are placed in. Taxis are easily available from
outside the airport building and cost approximately
€30-€45 approximately. Airport transfers on arrival are
only available between 07.00hrs and 23.00hrs to students
staying with host-families. |
